eTA Canada Visa from Germany

There is now a simpler way to obtain eTA Canada Visa from Germany, according to a new effort launched by the Canadian government. The eTA visa waiver for German citizens, which was implemented in 2016, is a multiple-entry electronic travel authorization that enables stays of up to 6 months with each visit to Canada.

Canada is increasingly becoming a popular destination for visitors from Europe, particularly Germany. German residents currently make up the fifth largest group of visitors who visit Canada each year. Canadian Government openly welcomes all German citizens to avail this simple method of obtaining an entry into Canada. Resident of Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Leipzig are amongst the leading users of this eTA Canada facility. German citizens can now use the expedited method of gaining an entry into Canada without getting passport stamped at the Canadian Embassy.

However, all German citizens must first obtain an electronic travel authorization, or eTA, in order to enter Canada.

In 2016, the Canadian government announced the eTA Canada for German citizens. This electronic travel authorization is accessible via a simple online application, eliminating the need for in-person applications at an embassy or consulate.

In this article, you will find a complete guide to applying for a Canadian tourist visa waiver from Germany, as well as the standards an applicant must meet in order to submit a request.

Do German Citizens Require a Visa To Enter Canada?

All German passport holders are required to have a visa or visa waiver to enter Canada legally.

It is now easier than ever to acquire a visa waiver to visit Canada, according to a recent effort by the Canadian government, via the electronic eTA application, which eliminates the inconvenience of seeking a visa in person from a Canadian diplomatic post.

An approved eTA Canada for German residents is a travel permit with multiple entries that allows for a total stay of 180 days with each entrance.

German citizens must complete an eTA application before boarding an aircraft bound for Canada to acquire an approved authorization that is digitally linked to their German travel document.

What Are The eTA Canada Visa Requirements For German Passport Holders In Canada?

Travelers seeking a Canada visa for German citizens must meet several requirements before being authorized for an eTA. These obligations include, but are not limited to, the provision of:

  • Passport - All German nationals must have a valid passport in order to receive a Canadian eTA visa. The passport must still be valid for at least six (6) months. In addition, the passport must be an e-passport (also referred to as a biometric passport) and machine-readable.
  • Personal information - All German travelers must provide data about themselves, consisting of their name, address, and contact number, as well as details about their job and place of employment, passport information, and trip plans, while completing the application.
  • Electronic Device - To complete the application, travelers will need a device with internet access, such as a phone, tablet, or computer.
  • A genuine payment method, such as a debit or credit card, is required by passengers to pay the eTA application fees.

Once accepted, an electronic authorization for travel to Canada is automatically attached to the traveler's passport. The Canadian eTA is valid for five (5) years, unless the supporting passport expires (whichever comes first).

The eTA is valid for multiple entries if they are less than 180 days, so travelers do not need to renew it each time they plan to visit Canada.

How To Apply for an eTA Canada Visa Application?

Step 1 - Fill out the form and upload electronic copies of the relevant papers.

Step 2 - Payment: To pay the eTA Visa Canada fee, use a credit or debit card.

Step 3 - Get your Canada ETA: Obtain an email containing the approved eTA.

Obtaining a Canada visa for German passport holders is simple and takes less than 30 minutes.

  • Travelers can begin the process of receiving their Canadian eTA by completing an online application. Applicants will be required to fill out details regarding themselves on the application, such as their date of birth, their name and surname, contact information (such as their residence and private email), work history, and a general outline of their travel schedule.
  • Once the application is complete, travelers must pay the eTA fee and wait.  Although some eTA requests may take a few days to fulfill due to high demand or other factors, passengers should expect a response within a few hours of filing their request.
  • To allow for processing and approval, we recommend seeking your Canadian eTA visa at least 72 hours (3 days) in advance.
  • Those who want to go to Canada within the next 24 hours and require an eTA from Germany can pick "Urgent Guaranteed Processing within 1 hour" when making their eVisa payment. This accelerated option guarantees that the eTA will be processed and that the applicant will receive a response within an hour.

Canada eTA for Employees and Students in Canada

You must also meet Canada's entrance standards if you are a worker or a student. A permit to work or study is not the same as a visa. In most situations, you will also require a valid visiting visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA) to enter Canada.

If you are applying for your first study or work permit, we will issue you a visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) if your application is approved. When traveling to Canada, make sure to bring the following items:

  • A valid passport or travel document - If you need a visa and are going to a Canadian airport, your passport or travel document must contain the visa sticker that we placed in it. If you need an eTA and are flying into a Canadian airport, you must display the passport that is electronically linked to your eTA.
  • A valid employment or study permit (if applicable) - You must travel with a valid study or work permit, a passport, and all required travel documentation. If you have a valid work or study permit from a Canadian employer or academic institution, bring it with you on your journey to the nation.

Paying a visit to your children or grandchildren in Canada

You may be eligible for a super visa if you are the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

A super visa allows you to see your children or grandkids for up to five (5) years.

It is a visa that allows multiple entries for a period of up to ten (10) years. A border services officer will authorize your stay when you arrive in Canada.

FAQs About the eTA Canada Visa For Germans

Is a German Citizen allowed to visit Canada?

Travel to Canada for leisure, business, or to see friends and family is once again permissible as of September 7, 2021, subject to certain conditions.

However, due to COVID-19, travel recommendations may change quickly, therefore we urge that you check Canada's most recent entry criteria and restrictions on a regular basis.

Is a visa required to go from Germany to Canada?

No, Germany does not require a visa and only requires an eTA for short-term stays (180 days Per Entry). This is a simple document to obtain, and you may apply for it online. Germans who intend to visit Canada for a longer period or for reasons not covered by the Canada eTA may be required to obtain a visa.

What exactly is a Canada ETA for Germans?

It is a computerized program that permits selected travelers to visit Canada without difficulty.

You can travel to Canada and stay for 180 days per entry once you get your Canadian eTA.

What documents do Germans need to apply for the eTA?

Before you can access the application, page and fill out the form, you must first ensure that you meet all of the prerequisites. However, you should have no trouble doing so because none of them are difficult to obtain. Here's what you'll need:

Passport: All applicants seeking an ETA must ensure that their passport is valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Canadian territory.

Email: You will receive your copy via email. So, please provide a current email address. You do not need to have a physical copy of your ETA with you when you receive it, but you can print one if you like.

Payment: For your convenience, we offer two payment options: credit and debit cards.

How long does the eTA application process take?

The application form can be completed in 15 to 20 minutes. However, if you require assistance, please call our agents.

The application form is divided into three steps.

Step one involves your data and journey information, as well as the delivery time of your application. Take note that it will specify the amount you must pay for your Canada ETA.

The second step entails modification and payment. To avoid mistakes, double-check all the information you entered.

Step three is to upload all the previously specified papers. When you're finished, submit it, and we'll send you your ETA at the time you specified.

IMPORTANT: German visitors to Canada for a few days do not need to apply for a Visitor visa, but an eTA is required. This document is valid for 5 years after it is issued or until the passport expires after the date of issue, during which time you can visit Canada as many times as you wish.

How many entries do I have with eTA from Canada?

A Multiple Entry eTA is available. In other words, you can visit this country multiple times with the Canada eTA.

Is it possible for a German citizen to enter Canada without an eTA Canada Visa?

German passport holders can stay in Canada visa-free for a maximum of six (6) months if they have an authorized Electronic Travel Authorization. For German citizens landing in Canada via commercial or chartered flight, the Canadian eTA is required.

The eTA validates a traveler's ability to enter Canada and is significantly faster and simpler to get than a traditional embassy visa.

The online eTA application just takes a few minutes to complete, and processing times are quick.

Germans who wish to stay in Canada for more than 180 days or work in the nation must apply for the appropriate Canadian visa.

German citizens can spend up to 6 months in Canada as a tourist or business guest with an approved Canadian eTA.

Although the exact duration of time a foreign citizen may stay in Canada varies, most German passport holders are permitted a 180-day stay.

Germans can visit Canada several times for up to six (6) months with the same authorized travel authorization.

If a German visitor wishes to stay in Canada for more than 180 days, they must obtain a conventional Canadian visa.

How long can a German citizen stay in Canada with the eTA?

German citizens can spend up to 6 months in Canada for tourism or business with an approved Canadian eTA.

If a German visitor needs to stay in Canada for more than 180 days, they must apply for a conventional Canadian visa.

Is a German citizen granted fast entry with the Canada eTA?

The online application form for Canada's eTA takes only a few minutes to complete. Unlike many traditional visa applications, there is no need to produce papers to an embassy or consulate in person, which saves time.

The processing of eTAs in Canada is also quick. Most petitions are processed within 24 hours; however, German travelers should request an eTA at least 1-3 business days before departure in case of any problems.

Germans can acquire an urgent eTA for Canada for even faster processing. Visitors who use this service are assured to obtain a decision within one hour.

The Canadian eTA from Germany is a multiple-entry permission, which implies that Germans may visit Canada as many times as they need while using the same eTA, given that it remains valid.

This may be especially useful for German businesspeople who need to go to Canada on a regular basis, as the eTA is valid for both business and tourism purposes.

If the German passport to which the eTA is linked expires, the visa waiver will no longer be valid for additional entries. In such circumstances, a new eTA must be obtained with the help of a renewed passport.

No stay in Canada may ever exceed the maximum time limit, which is usually 180 days.

Do my children require a Canada eTA if I plan to travel with them?

Please keep in mind that children under the age of 18 require an eTA to go to Canada.

When should I submit my application for an eTA?

As previously stated, you can apply whenever you want before entering Canada, but we recommend that you do so when you are ready to visit this region.

Is the Canadian eTA an assurance that I will be able to enter Canada?

We underline that the Canada ETA does not guarantee entry into Canada because the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officials will make the final decision. So, if your eTA is accepted, it implies you can go to Canada, but it does not immediately grant you entry into the nation.

Remember that after you arrive, you will be scrutinized by an Immigration official who will determine whether you are eligible to enter Canada.

Do I need to apply for an eTA every time I visit Canada?

You do not need to do so because the Canada eTA is valid for 5 years after it is issued or until your passport expires. If your ETA is valid, you can visit Canada as many times as you like.

Where can I get more information if I have further questions?

German citizens can use our services to seek an eTA.

However, if you want to contact one of our super operators to help you with your questions, you can do so here. Furthermore, if you want to learn more about it, click on this website.

Our goal is to make this approval procedure easier for you, and the testimonies reflect that. We also want our customers to have a positive experience with our services.

What Are the Places in Canada That an Austrian Citizen Can Visit?

Visitors to Canada are as charmed by the country's animals and nature as they are by its cultural and culinary offerings. Canoe along Vancouver's curving coastline while viewing the urban skyline or explore the wide arctic plains of Churchill in search of polar bears. Dine on five-star fusion cuisine in Toronto, or attend a street-side jazz jam session in Montreal.

These are the greatest places to visit in Canada, whether you're a first-time visitor or a return visitor looking to experience something new. But, because it is the world's second-largest country, you won't be able to see everything in a single trip.

Ottawa's Parliament Hill

Ottawa's Parliament Hill rises high above the Ottawa River and is dominated by Neo-Gothic-style Parliament buildings constructed in the latter half of the nineteenth century. The Peace Tower, which divides the House of Commons and the Senate on either side, is the most visible landmark. The Centennial Flame, lit in 1966 to commemorate the centennial of Canadian Confederation, stands in front of the Parliament buildings, and a sculpture garden lies beyond them.

Weather permitting, the Changing of the Guard takes place on the front lawn of the Houses of Parliament during the summer. A wonderful path stretches alongside the Ottawa River beneath Parliament Hill.

St. John's Signal Hill National Historic Site

Signal Hill National Historic Site is located near the entrance to St. John's port, overlooking the city and the sea. The first wireless transatlantic signal was received here in 1901. Although the existing fortifications were completed during the battles of 1812, it also played a vital role in the Seven Years' War with France.

One of Signal Hill's most important landmarks is the Cabot Tower. It was built in 1897 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the discovery of Newfoundland. It also honors Guglielmo Marconi's reception of the first transatlantic radio telegraphy transmission, which was broadcast over 2,700 kilometers from Poldhu in England, here in 1901.

Exhibitions about the history of Signal Hill and communications are housed in the tower (with a special section on Marconi). From the summit, you can see panoramic views of the city and the coast all the way to Cape Spear, North America's most easterly point.
